Mercedes EIS / ESL Repair

Electronic Ignition Switch (Push-Button Start) & Electronic Steering Lock Failure

We regularly see failures in Mercedes Electronic Ignition Switch (EIS) and Electronic Steering Lock (ESL) systems, particularly on push-button start vehicles. These faults can cause no-start conditions, intermittent operation, or complete immobilisation of the vehicle.

Our workshop is fully equipped to bench test, diagnose, and repair these units at component level. Where repair of the original steering lock is not viable, we can also supply and program a steering lock emulator, restoring correct system operation without further mechanical failure points.

Service Options

Full bench testing of EIS and ESL systems

Component-level repair where possible

Supply and programming of ESL emulator (when applicable)

System matched and verified before return

Programming Requirements

To correctly program and match the system, we require:

One working key & The vehicle’s Electronic Ignition Switch (EIS)

These components are necessary to securely reprogram the steering lock or emulator to the vehicle.

Common EIS Part Number

A 207 545 03 08

If you are experiencing intermittent starting issues, steering lock faults, or complete no-crank conditions on a Mercedes with push-button start, this service provides a reliable repair-or-replace alternative to costly new modules.
